Pimpa Limthongkul

Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul earned her Ph.D. degree in in Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in Technology and Policy in 2002 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. She has over 25 years research experiences in both academic, government and private sectors in Thailand and USA. For the past 20 years, her work has been geared towards the field of materials for energy systems, specifically rechargeable battery and solid oxide fuel cells. She co-authored over 60 scientific publications, and is a co-inventor over 10 patents/ patents applications. Her research work has helped found 2 battery companies: A123 Systems and 24M Technologies, Inc. Dr. Limthongkul is currently holding a position as Head of the Electrochemical Materials and System Team at MTEC/NSTDA using her knowledge and experience to develop new battery materials and system that would lead to realization of electrification of vehicles, growth of renewable energy and development of highly efficient power grid.
